Partitioned Poland

Few issues which are either typically Polish although were floated while Poland was not an independent country or which are closely related to Poland because they were either floated on Polish territory or issuer was located/registered there  – Kingdom of Poland which was part of Russian Empire, Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria with Great Principality of Cracow which was part of Austrian Empire etc.

Please note that typical issues of central governments of partitioning powers (Russia, Austria and Germany) are listed under respective countries in Foreign section although they did circulate also on Polish territories.

To be honest I am not very keen on those early pieces – there is not much to be collected as many of them “died from natural causes” and were simply redeemed and destroyed. This in turn makes them rare or extremely rare and often prohibitively expensive. But from time to time something like this comes up from “unprofessional” sources so I have collected few of them.

0099200 złotych, zero-coupon bond of 1833

Issues of Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria with Great Principality of Cracow are of particular interest because they were recognized by newly independent Polish State as internal debt instruments and at certain stage exchanged for bonds of  5% state conversion loan of 1924.
