Below you will find the result of my own research of the history of state bonds issued between 1918 and 1939 by 2nd Polish Republic – Catalogue which (in my opinion) contains complete list of government bonds (within the scope I have defined) issued between 1918 and 1939.
Short term treasury bills (zero coupon, maturity <= 1 year) and other types of debt instruments which are known to exist, but which were not available to a general public are beyond the scope of my research but brief description of some of them is also provided.
Polish version is complete, although it may contain certain source documents in English. The English version is still being translated.
♣ “virtual” bonds – those bonds were not available to the general public, physical bonds probably have never been printed and issued. Such issues were usually subscribed by one or two state institutions (such as Social Security Fund or State Saving Bank for example) and eventually were subject to compulsory conversion into 1936, 4% consolidation loan. From the other hand they were listed for some time as obligations of the State, so the debt as such existed, eventually disappearing from state debt reports after conversion to consolidation loan. There is a slim chance that some sort of printers proofs or specimens of such bonds may eventually appear on the market, but as of today they are unknown.
♦ not a part of original catalog, so only brief description is provided.
