Short movie from the crossing of former border between German and Russian Empire (to be exact between Kingdom of Prussia and Kingdom of Poland) at Osiek – Pissakrug. The place is located between Rypin and Brodnica on the road DW560 – today it’s still a border separating two adjacent communes. Easy to spot as the …
There was no winter to speak of so I have left the bike at ISM for standard maintenance on January 20, 2015 – this was the end of 3rd season with 52950 km on the dial. One month later, on February 20, 2015 I picked up my bike, went for MOT test and thus started season number 4.
If you look for decent shared hosting account then try IFastNet. As other providers they also have limits incorporated in “unlimited” offer, but those limits are generous and clearly reported in cPanel. With them you will know exactly what are the limits and what is the usage (in plain numbers). They will not mail-bomb you with bullshit “resources overage” emails or throttle your site without any warning. Available plans are reasonably priced and service is reliable. I have tried few shared hosting companies (GoDaddy, IPage, InMotion) and this one is the best.

I have decided to redo my site from the scratch. This takes time and may result in some 404 (page not found) errors – if something is not there please try to search the site or come back in a day or two. There is a good chance that you will find it again in (more or less) the same place. If you are really stuck then send me a message – I may be able to find the missing bit. Sorry for inconvenience.
Rare short term treasury bill of the German (3rd) Reich issued by Reichsschuldenverwaltung (Debt Management Office of the German Reich) in favor of Steiermarkische Sparkasse Head Office (Steiermark Savings Bank) in Graz (Austria) on 9 April 1945, due 19 May 1945. Unpaid as on the due date there was nobody to collect the money from 😉

Quite a lot of money at that time. Looks like some sort of liquidity management instrument, but the real purpose behind issuance of such bills is not clear to me.
Interesting document – offered as bill of exchange but actually it has nothing to do with such bills. It is a confirmation that Hermann Kennemann from KlÄ™ka invested the amount of 100 Thalers as a silent partner in a company set up in order to publish newspaper in German language. The company published Ostdeutsche Zeitung, known later as Posener Tageblatt from 1862 until 1939.
The investor named in this document, Hermann Kennemann aus Klenka, the biggest landowner in the Province of Posen, was well known for his very conservative views and (diplomatically speaking) unfriendly attitude towards local Poles. He was one of the founders of Deutsche Ostmarkenverein, known (from first letters of its founders names: Ferdinand v. Hansemann, Hermann Kennemann und Heinrich v. Tiedemann) as HKT or Hakata – German organization which was notoriously nationalist and anti-Polish.
Small Hungarian town close to the border with Serbia. Not much is happening here and there is not really much to see, but they have thermal springs and heated swimming pools so it’s an excellent place to relax (they have few reasonably priced pensions and quite good hotel – bit pricey at 70 EUR per night but this price includes free access to saunas and swimming pools, buffet -style breakfast and supper). There is also a buffalo reserve near by, and much larger city of Szeged is not far away (there is a regular bus service in operation). (more…)
